About the Bike Station
The Bike Station is Scotland's largest, and one of its longest established, bike recycling charities.
We have three main aims:
1) To encourage and promote good mental and physical health through encouraging people to cycle;
2) To help people learn to ride their bicycles safely and to be able to repair them themselves;
3) To help the environment by recycling and by promoting cycling as a means of transport.
Through our Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth branches we refurbish and restore donated bicycles and sell them at affordable prices, all with a 3 month warranty. We sell second hand parts and accessories, and some new parts and accessories too.
We also run other services at each Bike Station such as Fix Your Own Bike workshops where users can hire a workstand and tools to fix their bikes for only £4 an hour. Accredited mechanics are on hand to offer help and advice, but not to do the repair for you! If fixing your own bike isn't for you, we do additionally run a bike servicing and repair facility, where you can book your bike in for repair and servicing by our fully qualified mechanics.
As well as selling bikes, and repairing bikes we're keen to help people learn to ride their bike safely, so we teach cycle training and cycle safety to individuals and groups too.
For corporate or community events we also run a Dr Bike service, where a mobile mechanic can services bikes at your workplace or community event.
This is only a small selection of the services we offer - check out our individual shop pages to see what services are on offer at your nearest Bike Station.
