Cyclists and freight: an excellent video from Transport for London
Cycling around tramtracks. The first new tramtracks have been laid on Princes Street, with work soon to start on other streets. Whilst cycling and tramtracks can co-exist quite happily (think of Amsterdam), everyone cycling in the city centre needs to beware. The main danger is getting your wheels stuck in the tracks.
Don't go too near, and when you need to cross the tracks do it at a 90 degree angle which reduces the chance of your wheel sliding in and getting stuck.
Tramtracks, made of smooth steel, are slippier than tarmac - something else to watch out for when cycling across a rail.
