Donating a bike
Bike recycling is growing across the UK, and the Bike Station is one of the country's largest and longest-established bike recycling projects.
We take any used/old/discarded/unwanted bike, no matter its age or condition.
We also take any unwanted parts and accessories, such as old locks (with a key/combination!), lights, bike panniers etc. The only things we cannot take are old bike helmets.
To donate an old bike, or parts or accessories, we accept them Monday to Saturday at the Perth and Edinburgh Bike Stations (opening hours to the left of the page). There is ample parking right outside our door. If you cannot deliver your old bike, we may be able to collect if you live in the Perth area. Call us on 01738 444430.
Abandoned bikes in stairs. This is a perennial problem in tenements, and we can collect these. If you have a problem with abandoned bikes, you will first need to give all your neighbours the chance to claim any bikes that may be theirs to make sure they really are abandoned. Download this factsheet for more information on how to go about it, together with a standard letter for you to adapt and use. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
We collect bicycles from the Perth recycling centre in Friarton and the recycling centre in Kinross.
Don't let your old bike go to waste.
