Every bike we get helps support our work promoting cycling, providing training and offering volunteering and other opportunities.

We take any used/old/discarded/unwanted bike, no matter its age or condition.

We also take any unwanted parts and accessories, such as old locks (with a key/combination!), lights, bike panniers etc. The only things we cannot take are old bike helmets.

To donate an old bike, or parts or accessories, we accept them Monday to Saturday (and at the Perth and Glasgow Bike Stations). There is ample parking right outside our door. If you cannot deliver your old bike, we can collect if you live in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Call us on 0131 668 1996.

Abandoned bikes in stairs. This is a perennial problem in tenements, and we can collect these. If you have a problem with abandoned bikes, you will first need to give all your neighbours the chance to claim any bikes that may be theirs to make sure they really are abandoned. Download this factsheet for more information on how to go about it, together with a standard letter for you to adapt and use. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

If you live in East Lothian you can take your old bike to the recycling centre at Kinwegar.

Edinburgh alone has an estimated 150,000 bikes, with the number growing every year as cycling becomes more popular. Don't let your old bike go to waste.
