The Team
Greg- Project Manager

Greg learned to cycle about three years ago thanks to the Edinburgh Bike Station and was frequently their services to fix its bikes and learn bike maintenance while living in the capital. From sportive background Greg would not cycle due to a cycling accident at a young age. He then quickly fell in love with cycling and 3 month later he already owned 3 bikes and was cycling Glasgow to Edinburgh with Cycling for Scotland charity. When he moved to Glasgow and he quickly found out that there was a lack of services for cyclists in Glasgow. There are a hardly any bike tracks/paths nor cyclists. He found out that people were not willing to cycle because it was too dangerous, especially at night.
After a Degree in Marketing Management, a Masters in IT and 6 years of work experience in UK as Technical support, website developer, then Financial Analyst and Team leader he gave its entire career to start Glasgow Bike Station and help Glasgow communities to get back on their bikes.
Richard Kidd – Workshop Manager
Becoming interested in cycling at the age of 12, Richard developed a love of bikes in both the active sense and the aesthetic. Spending many hours stripping and repairing his own bike in preparation for races he gained exceptional knowledge of all bicycle repairs. This moved into professional involvement when he became head of repairs at Halfords bicycle department in 1998. He later became workshop manager for West Dunbartonshire Council where he worked exclusively on council owned bikes. Both these roles gave him a firm understanding of the work involved in running a bicycle workshop. Richards other work as an outdoor instructor gave him a much focused view of health and safety and gave him strong organisational and personnel management skills. While training as an outdoor instructor Richard used charities, namely DSUK (Disability Snowsport United Kingdom) to ensure quality coaching hours. This continued as he found a love of volunteering in charitable situations.
Along with Greg who set it up, Richard has been involved from the beginning of the project in July 2010.
