North West Bike Club

The North West Bike Club, run by Glasgow Bike Station, is for young people aged 12-19 who would like to learn about bike maintenance or go on cycle adventures.

  • We run maintenance classes in schools and youth clubs in areas of the North West of Glasgow.
  • Group bike rides are open to everyone (including parents) and are run from areas in the North West of Glasgow.

Maintenance sessions don’t simply teach young people how to fix their own bike; they can also gain qualifications in bike maintenance from City and Guilds.

Group bike rides will be different every time, allowing the young people to discover new routes and destinations by bike. Bikes and helmets are available to borrow (for free). There is also the chance to take part in an Assistant Ride Leader course, providing the chance to gain qualification as well as opportunities to develop leadership skills.

All the sessions are free thanks to Glasgow City Council’s Integrated Grant Fund.
