We refurbish donated bikes, sell them at affordable prices and use the proceeds to overcome barriers to cycling in Scotland.

 

Job Location: Perth , Scotland

Salary/ Contract Hours: 28 hours (0.8 FTE) Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2027 (with the potential to extend to full time). Salary - Real Living Wage.

 

The Post

Refurbishing Mechanic is part of the Production team within The Bike Station. The role is designed to support the day to day delivery of our refurbished bike stock for our shop floors, which includes a very varied range of bikes. You will also support the delivery of the Perth Community Hub, facilitating the collection of our free to access bike programme, including Wee Bike Library and assisting with monthly pop up sales.

 

You will be skilled in assessing and completing high quality work and have experience in managing work and Epos/IT systems.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assess bikes for refurbishing and servicing and complete required work to a high standard

  • Assist with day to day operation of the workshop and community hub maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

  • Customer service within the community hub

  • External events

  • Data input and spreadsheet analysis.

  • Other duties as directed by the Production Manager.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' professional experience as a bike mechanic

  • A recognised qualification in bike maintenance and assembly

  • Minimum of 3 years customer service experience

  • Very good communication skills

  • Will work independently and as part of a team
