Chair, Board Member
Thomas Haddock
Thomas has spent over a decade working on active travel and sustainable transport projects across Scotland and Europe. He began his career in London with the social enterprise Bikeworks, helping more people get on bikes and giving unwanted bikes a new lease of life.

After moving to Edinburgh, Thomas joined Sustrans Scotland, first working within the City of Edinburgh Council’s active travel team, where he’s most proud of delivering the cycling and walking upgrades to Lower Granton Road. He later joined Sustrans’ Places for Everyone team, supporting community-led projects and helping fund walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure across Scotland.

Thomas is now Head of Operations for NetZeroCities at Climate-KIC, where he leads the delivery of the European Commission’s Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission, supporting cities across Europe to become climate neutral and create healthier, more people-friendly urban spaces.

Kim Harding
Kim Harding is a long-time director of the Bike Station, also the founder and director of the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling, and one of the founders of the campaign group Pedal on Parliament.
He is a Jack of all trades and a Master of Philosophy, trying to change the world one pedal stroke at a time (sometimes inspired by those who have circumnavigated the globe one pedal stroke at a time). He joined the Bike Station board in 2012, before that, he had worked as a cycle trainer for the Bike Station.
As part of his lobbying and campaigning activities, Kim has been promoting the use of cargo bikes for almost 20 years, owning and using cargo bikes for over 10 years. He sees the bicycle as a multipurpose tool which can be used to help fix many of the world's problems.

Andy Barker
Andy is a chartered mechanical engineer, a renewable energy specialist with previous experience in product design/development and manufacturing. He started his career as the 'Saturday lad' at his local bike shop refurbishing second hand bikes, handling sales and customer service. Now, 30 years later Andy is currently Consultancy Director at Locogen leading a team of specialist consultants providing support to wind/solar projects. Andy brings his experience in strategic leadership and people management to the team.

Sean Errey
Originally from Ontario, Canada, Sean has over a decade of marketing and communications experience supporting SMEs across the UK. As a long-standing community member in South Edinburgh, he is eager to bring his Climate KIC expertise to a local context and contribute to The Bike Station’s mission of encouraging and embracing behaviour change around active travel.

Matt Smith
Matt brings a blend of marketing and sales expertise, along with a lifelong passion for cycling advocacy, to the board of The Bike Station. He currently leads marketing and sales at Edinburgh Leisure, a leading organisation in Scotland’s sporting third sector, where he drives growth in membership and fitness participation. A UCI Riders’ Agent, Matt is committed to developing cycling pathways across Scotland to help more people access and enjoy life on two wheels.
