Lionel's Bike
"I have fond memories of the bike I bought from you [in 2018]. I rode if four weeks in Edinburgh and gave it to a family in London after using it there a week."
Lionel was staying in Edinburgh as he was a BagPiper performing in the Edinburgh Tattoo. He told us of the adventures he had on the bike before it was passed onto it's next owner for a new adventure. He cycle to Queensferry, along the Innocent trail and Portabello Beach as well as taking it on a visit to the Gordon Highlanders Museum in Aberdeen before transporting it down to London where it had adventures in an around the city.
Lionel tells us "Not sure which I enjoyed more: your bike or bagpiping". He even sent a fellow Tattoo Piper to us in 2024 who had a similar experience!

Chris's Daughter
"A huge thanks to The Bike Station for the amazing service, time and care in helping my girl choose her bike, helmet, lights and bike lock today - and all free because of fabulous support from Transport Scotland! I honestly can't beleive I didn't have to pay a single penny!"
Chris' daughter accessed a bike for free through the Wee Bike Library which allows families to access kids bikes for free and exchange them for the next size up as their child grows. Thanks to the Wee Bike Library so many young people and their families are able to access bikes and have amazing adventures!

Olivia's Bike (47, 287)
"I always got my bikes from The Sike Station growing up, and I used to donate my old ones to them as well. I remember as a kid being really sad to give up my pink princess-themed bike because I was too big for it, but finding comfort in the fact that another little girl was going to enjoy it.
My bike really helped me in lockdown - with us only being allowed out for an hour a day, my bike would allow me to travel around my area. We'd go for picnics and enjoy the nice weather and distract ourselves from how uncertain life was.
My bike sits in the shed now and I don't use it as much as I should - hence the flat tire at the back.
But I'm never getting rid of it - I know this bike will last me for years to come and take me many places!"

Luke's Bike
Luke came in to us looking for a bike for a planned cycling tour from Heathrow to Rome over 20 days averaging 140km per day.
He chose the perfect day and time because Craig, one our mechanics, had just done a brilliant job on this Dawes Audax (it hadn’t even made it on to the shop floor yet!)

The bike was originally built for just this sort of adventure. Craig had sprinkled some magic on the bike, giving it an expert service and upgrading the groupset to a more modern Shimano Sora 9 speed. It already had mudguards, two bottle cages and a lovely Rolls saddle. Not only was the bike the perfect bike for the job, it was Luke's size AND well within his budget, PLUS we managed to add a pre-loved pannier rack, pannier bags and a brand new Kryptonite d-lock.
