Preparation for Long Rides
This course is designed to help walk you through all you need to know about being prepared for long rides!​
In this course we will take you through the following:

Cable snaps
-
Chain snaps
-
Thorn in tyre
-
Chain falls off
-
Derailleur gets bent
Prerequisites: Puncture Repair. You must be familiar with a puncture repair, as we will NOT be covering it in this course.​

Please Note: This course is NOT suitable for Cargo Bikes or e-bikes.

Terms and conditions
Velotech Cycling Ltd. policy requires at least 4 weeks in between each course to allow you enough time to practise before moving on to the next level. We may contact you to rebook your course if it does
not comply to this rule.​

You must be at least 16 years of age to receive a Velotech award. See the Velotech website for more details.

PLEASE NOTE: Velotech policy requires participants to have the previous levels in order to get a valid certification. You must take Bronze in order to take Silver, and must have Bronze and Silver to take Gold. If you sign up for a course that you do not have the qualifications for, you will not be allowed to participate and will be given a refund or rebooked on the correct course. This is a non-negotiable policy active October 2023.

We will accommodate requests to transfer to another course where possible, if an alternative and suitable course exists.

In the event that a transfer is not possible, the following cancellation charges will apply:

For cancellations less than two weeks but more than one week before the course delivery date, 25% of the fee will be charged

For cancellations one week or less but more than 48 hours before the course delivery date, 50% of the fee will be charged

For cancellations 48 hours or less before the course delivery date, the full course fee will be charged
On occasion, unforeseen circumstances or an insufficient number of attendees may require us to cancel a course. In such circumstances you will be given as much notice as possible and either a free transfer to another course or a full refund of fees paid.
