Paceline

Paceline-NoText.png

Paceline is an Edinburgh-based programme offering paid apprenticeships to adults and young people as Assistant Mechanics or Assistant Cycle Trainer Ride Leaders

We know that the job market is tough at the moment- we also know that there's a growing need for bicycle mechanics and cycle trainers. That's why we created Paceline in 2026- to offer paid apprenticeships in bike mechanics or cycle training to school leavers or parents and carers who are out of work or in part-time work.

Through our 22 partner schools in Edinburgh, we invite apprentices to join us in our Gorgie branch, learning skills from customer service to bicycle mechanics to ride leading. Apprentices can work two or four days per week, are paid the Real Living Wage, and are offered industry standard qualitifcations during their time with us.

"This work placement was my first job and it felt like a very good experience of being in a workplace and being part of a team... I didn’t know what I wanted to do after school and this course has shown me what I want." Assistant Mechanic, 2026
