Cargo Bikes Join the Wee Bike Library!

We’ve got big news — and big bikes — to share!

The Bike Station’s Wee Bike Library is growing, and we’re thrilled to announce that cargo bikes are now part of this work. Whether you’re hauling the weekly shop, dropping the kids at nursery, or just looking to cycle more and drive less, cargo bikes are a game-changer — and now, more accessible than ever.

What’s a cargo bike, and why does it matter?

Cargo bikes are built to carry heavy loads and people! They’re a brilliant alternative to a car — especially for short trips around town — and they’re a vital part of the transition to more sustainable, people-friendly streets.

But here’s the thing: cargo bikes are expensive. Many people want to try one, but few get the chance.

That’s where we come in.

Thanks to the Wee Bike Library, you can now borrow a cargo bike — just like you would a book from your local library. Adding cargo bikes makes this community program even more powerful.

Research shows that 1 in 4 people in Perth and 1 in 5 in Edinburgh want to drive less, but face barriers like cost, lack of infrastructure, or not knowing where to start.
