As the Cargo Bike Movement winds up, The Bike Station is working to ensure its impact continues. Cargo bikes are a vital part of the future of sustainable transport, and we’re committed to making them more accessible to individuals, families, and organisations. This means we can continue supporting a growing cargo bike community while staying true to our mission of refurbishing bikes, reducing waste, and reinvesting in communities.

Lake Montgomery, Interim Chair of Cargo Bike Movement, said:
"Our vision has always been for fairer, greener, healthier communities. Our work over the last five years has responded to the need for better air quality in our city, the global climate and ecological crises, social inequalities in our communities and the need for good examples of sustainable transport.
Like other voluntary organisations across Scotland, we have faced an incredibly challenging funding environment. Navigating through this has been hard work on our staff, our volunteers and our stakeholders in Edinburgh and the Lothians."

Sasha Taylor, CEO of The Bike Station added:
"The Bike Station have been in awe of the passion, dedication, and impact of Cargo Bike Movement. As a result of this transition, we will be uniquely placed to be at the forefront of creating sustainable communities. Cargo bikes are the future. We are excited to be part of the next phase of this adventure."
We’re grateful for the support of our community. Follow us on social media or check our website for updates during the transition period.
